Agility Venue - Grassed Area 50 meters to the South of the Westpac Centre
Atility Interclub Teams Competition - A maximum of two teams may be entered from each club. A team consists of three dogs and three handlers. See rules printed elsewhere in this Gazette. Entries taken on Saturday 27th September.
Allocation of Judges and Scheduling - The PRO PLAN New Zealand Kennel Club National Dog Show Committee reserves the right to reallocate judges, tests and classes and alter the scheduled order of judging should circumstances require. This may include changing the day of judging. Any changes will be notified.
Baby Puppy Registration Applied For - To enter under this regulation a full registration application must be lodged with New Zealand Kennel Club at the date of submitting the entry.
Carmele Cindy Trophy (Obedience Teams Competition) - Any obedience club recognised or associated under New Zealand Kennel Club Rules can compete. See rules printed elsewhere in this Gazette.
Car Parking - Car parking is FREE
Campervans - Campervans, Mobile Homes and Trailers are NOT permitted to park overnight at the Westpac Centre. Camping will be available at the Canterbury Kennel Centre, McLeans Island Road. Alternatively there are a number of commercial camping grounds who will accept dogs see http://www.nzkc.org.nz/nds2008/
Catalogues - Full catalogues $15.00. Individual Group, Obedience & Agility $5.00 each. Please use catalogue order form. The website will list the catalogue numbers of the dogs in the breeds only prior to the show and will not list any further details.
Catering - There will be full catering in the cafeteria located in the Main Concourse area. Limited catering will be available from 7am. It is hoped to have some basic catering outside at the Agility event. A bar will operate from the same area as the catering.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As the catering at this venue is operated by commercial caterers NO outside catering is permitted. Exhibitors are reminded that the consumption of alcoholic beverages not purchased at the venue is prohibited and this will be strictly enforced as it contravenes the licence conditions and jeopardize the bar mangers licence.
Commentary over sound system - Members are advised that there may be commentary over the Arena sound system at any time during the 2008 ProPlan National Dog Show.
Grooming Areas - At the PRO PLAN National Dog Show there will be two grooming areas. One at the back of the main arena where the public will not be permitted and the second one in the main concourse area.
Crufts - This show is a qualifying show for the 2009 and 2010 Crufts Dog Show. The winner of Junior Dog, Junior Bitch, Best Dog and Best Bitch are eligible for a Crufts qualifying certificate on application. Please see separate notice regarding Crufts Qualifying Certificates and Vaccination protocols.
Desexed Dogs - Spayed bitches and neutered dogs can enter a stake class but cannot enter breed classes at this Championship Show. The letter ‘D’ must be placed after the dog’s number on the entry form. New Zealand Kennel Club registry records must be endorsed ‘de-sexed’. There are no restrictions on desexed dogs entering obedience, agility and working trials.
Disabled Car parks for Exhibitors - There will be a limited number of Disabled car parks for exhibitors located close to the exhibitors entrance. If you require one of these you must apply for a pass with your entries. In addition you will be required to display a current Mobility Card at all times in the same name as the application.
Entries - Entries must be either made online at www.nzkc.org.nz or on the New Zealand Kennel Club Official Entry Form. A separate entry form is required for each dog for each discipline entered - breed, agility, obedience or working trials.
Exhibitors Passes - One exhibitor’s pass per entry will be issued up to a maximum of two per exhibitor. Exhibitors of jointly owned dogs will be issued one per dog. Extra passes for exhibitors can be obtained by applying prior to the show to the New Zealand Kennel Club. Entry to the venue is by showing your pass or paying the public entry fee.
Exhibitor entry is only permitted via the rear entrance of the venue. Entry for exhibitors is not permitted through the main public doors.
Public Entry will open at 8am, 30 minutes prior to judging commencing. Entry Fees will be $10 per adult, $5 per child (under 15), Family Pass (2 adults and 2 children) $ 25. Three Day pass $ 20 per adult and $ 10 per child (under 15)
Junior Dog Handler Competition Final - The final will be judged on Saturday to choose New Zealand’s top junior handler. They will win a trip for themselves and their chaperone to compete at Crufts 2009 in the United Kingdom.
Stakes Classes - Exhibits entered in a breed class at the National Dog Show may be entered in a stakes class for which they are qualified. Neutered and spayed dogs may be entered in any stakes class for which they are qualified but are not eligible to be entered in a breed class. Dogs over the age of seven years may be entered in a stakes class for which they are qualified without needing to be entered in a breed class. The classes are: Puppy Stakes, all breeds of puppies aged 3 - 12 calendar months on the first day of the show; NZ Bred Stakes, all breeds of NZ bred dogs aged 6 months and over.
Temporary Permission to Show Imported Dog - A full pedigree including name and number must be at New Zealand Kennel Club by 8 August 2008 or the entry will be returned.
Trophies - The best ever array of trophies will be on offer through the generosity of our sponsors PRO PLAN. Trophies for In Show, Obedience, Trials and Agility winners, prizes for Best of Breed and Test Winners. Rosettes and sashes for all In Show, Group, Test and Breed winners. Special Cards for all place getters. Generous donation of sponsor’s products.
Young Kennel Club - The finals of the breed handling stakes, obedience and agility competitions will be held at the Westpac centre on the Saturday evening commencing at 6.30 p.m.

Both Cook Strait ferry companies are continuing their discounted fares to NZKC members at the same rates as in 2007. Which you choose is up to you - check sailing times and fares on offer for your vehicle and passengers. Some fares are below. While cheaper cash fares may sometimes be available, check the conditions. Fares under NZKC offers can be changed without penalty up to an hour before sailing. Both companies charge trailers as an additional vehicle. All details are subject to change.
