![]() The VenueThe show will be held at the Westpac Centre which is in Jack Hinton Drive, Addington, Christchurch The Westpac Centre is New Zealand's largest and most modern indoor stadium with 9100 capacity and opened September 1998. This impressive multi-purpose arena hosts concerts, exhibitions and a wide range of sporting events. Provision for international sport and traditional indoor arena events has been integrated into the design requirements. Designed along the same lines as some of Europe's finest arenas, the Westpac Centre has over 7200 seats for centre court spectator events such as Davis Cup Tennis, Silver Fern Netball and Scenic Circle Rams Basketball.
Colleen Begg and Irene Wilson will be at the Curtain Raiser at Mcleans Island on Thursday at the New Zealand Kennel Club stand and issuing passes, exhibitor information booklets and numbers for the National and Curtain Raiser.
They will also be at the main entrance to Westpac Arena the New Zealand Kennel Club stand will have passes, exhibitor booklets and numbers for the National on Friday. There is no charge to get into the entrance where the stand is but there is a charge to get into the main arena.

Get out your camera and call up your dog. We want you candid canine snaps! NZYKC is looking for your best dog photograph. The evolution of canis familiaris and the extraordinary relationship between man and dog has resulted in the development of hundreds of diverse breeds and cross breeds, all with their own history, purpose and style. Many of these breeds will be competing in conformation, obedience and agility events at the national show. Spectators are able to observe, question and learn about man’s best friends. This event could provide a unique learning opportunity for your students. The national show is also the culmination of our Junior Dog Handler competition where 14 regional finalists, aged between 12 and 18 years, will compete to represent New Zealand at the Crufts International Final, Birmingham in March, 2009. The New Zealand Young Kennel Club is sponsoring a photographic competition which will be judged prior to the show. Entry is open to any young person in the following age groups and categories:
