Street Parking
This is limited and strictly policed. Our Exhibition Centre
is situated in an industrial area and our neighbours have to
work here whilst the show is in progress. Do not park on private
property. Do not park illegally. If you do either of these things
you will be TOWED AWAY.
Free Off-Street Parking
Our neighbour, has made available their off-street parking areas
in Heriot Drive during the show. Access is from Heriot Drive
as shown below. A walking path leads to the rear of the Exhibition
Centre Car Park. If you don't mind the walk, we recommend you
use it.
Access to Building
No access to the building will be available before 7.am when the grooming area will be opened. This is the area at the south western end of the building and will be for grooming purposes only. An early morning toilet is situated at the north eastern end of the building.
Obedience Teams Entries
These must be made with the Obedience Manager upon arrival. You can pre-enter these competitions. Entry forms are available from the New Zealand Kennel Club.
Breed Judging
It is the exhibitor's responsibility to present their dog(s) for judging. Only three calls will be given after which time a dog will be deemed scratched
PEDIGREE® Junior Dog Handler Competition
This competition is to be held on Friday. Finalists should report to the Events Manager in accordance with instructions given. The ring exercises consist of two rounds of practical handling by each finalist. At the conclusion there will be a session of stakes judging before the finalists return to the ring for the announcment of the winner and presentations.
Obedience and Agility Competitors
Must report to the Obedience Manager and/or Agility Manager upon arrival. Failure to report could result in your dog being scratched. Competitors in both agility and obedience on Saturday must advise both managers of possible conflicts in running times. Competitors will be expected to present themselves for competition. No class will be delayed for competitors not present. Only the Obedience and Agility managers can alter the running order. This will only be done by prior arrangement and will only be done for good reason.
Stakes Class
There is a possibility that Breed judging and Stake class judging may clash. If this appears to be imminent please contact the Show Manager Urgently.
Fouling
As paying public will be present, to create a good image, the building will be a NO FOULING area. All foulings are to be cleaned up by the handler at the time.
Crates and Tables
The designated grooming area will be in the REAR HALL ONLY, no crates or tables in main hall please. There will also be floor markings for crate and table positioning, please remain in these as room will once again be at a premium.
Catalogues
Pre-ordered catalogues can be collected at the show. A limited supply will be available for sale at the show for $15.00 for a full show catalogue or $5.00 for a Group, Obedience or Agility section only.
Welcome bags for exhibitors
After an enthusiastic reception last year, the New Zealand Kennel Club has once again approached a number of local businesses who have generously agreed to donate various products to include in the 2003 Welcome Bags. In addition to acknowledging the support our primary sponsor PEDIGREE has given us, the New Zealand Kennel Club would also like to thank the following businesses: Pedigree, Pak'N Save, Countdown, Animates, Westpac, Moore Wilson and the Brentwood Hotel. These bags can be collected from the New Zealand Kennel Club stand upon presentation of the exhibitor's voucher.
Exercise Area
There will be several exercise areas around the grounds; at these areas there will be scoopers and bags for your use. Please clean up after your dogs. Refer to site map in the rear for these areas.
Catering
A variety of commercial stalls will be providing Cafe style food, drinks and meals.
Bar
A Bar will be operating at this show, run by Location Catering.
Dogs on Stands
Exhibitors are reminded that people have to sit on the grandstands. It is not appropriate to allow dogs to walk or sit on stands where people are going to sit.
Security of Valuables
Thieves have operated at past National Dog Shows both inside and outside the building. Please ensure your vehicles are secured and under your control at all times. Do not leave valuables in the grooming area. For your security, the Secretary's office will run a valuables security deposit and all valuables may be left with them.
Contagious Diseases
Exhibitors are reminded that they must observe the declaration on entry forms and not bring to the show any dog that has been exposed to the risk of any contagious disease for the six months prior to exhibition. All vacinations should be up to date.
