Welcome to the world of the smallest of the hunt,point and retrieve breeds - the Brittany, also known as the Epagneul Breton.
Since the year 2000, we have been priviledged to be part of the ground breaking success and growing popularity in New Zealand of these wonderful dogs. Our focus, right from the start,has been to specialize in the "French" type of Brittany and we are proud to present our bitches and our imported male.

We dont breed very often, but when we do, quality is guaranteed.
We are proud of the fact that the majority of dogs bearing our kennel name are not owned or handled by us.
We have over 30 years experience in owning, training and breeding true working gundogs - Holmbrook Kennel started in 1973 with German Shorthaired Pointers ,including:

NZCh & FTCh Sheik of Holmbrook QC, his daughter -
NZ Ch Holmbrook Starlet QC and
NZCh & FTCh Kazia Trek Record QC (Imp Aust).
- all owned, shown and field trialed by us over the years.
We now concentrate exclusively with the Brittany breed BUT due to unforeseen circumstances our breeding programme is suspended indefinitely.

Spice is orange and white with black points and is our foundation Brittany.
She is a dream dog to own, trial and hunt over. She has achieved more in her short life, than any other Brittany in New Zealand.
Her own personal achievements include:
*FIRST Brittany in NZ to be awarded a Field Trial Champion title.
*FIRST Brittany in NZ to be a dual champion (Show and Field Trial).
*FIRST Brittany in NZ to be a dam AND grand-dam of Champion progeny.
*FIRST Brittany in NZ to be awarded three 3rd placings at NEW ZEALAND Field Trial Championships.
*FIRST Brittany to represent the South Island in the Inter - Island teams competition and also WIN.
In her final championship competition, Spice was awarded 4th place in a field of 12 dogs representing all regions of NZ at the NZGTA 75th Jubilee Trial, held at Easter weekend 2011. She retired as the highest placed South Island competitor.

We are delighted that "Moss" gained his New Zealand champion title with eight consecutive CC's from 2 New Zealand and 6 Australian judges.
He is the FIRST black tricolour champion of the breed for New Zealand and has caused quite a stir wherever he goes.
HIP SCORED: 4:2 Total 6 (NZVA)
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Moss will not be available for stud purposes.

Like her dam, Sophie has made her mark on the breed history, with lots more to come.
*FIRST* Brittany in NZ to be awarded 20 consecutive CC's (Best Bitch Awards) in the show ring and be awarded an NZKC BRONZE CERTIFICATE OF MERIT.
*FIRST* Brittany in NZ to be awarded an age GROUP at an all breeds show.
So far she has 6 championship field trial wins and holds 2 FT CC's.
She was awarded her field trial QC in June 2011.
