Hi - I have been around dogs for as long as I can remember and thought during my childhood I would eventually work with dogs. My life did not evolve that way but I suppose paved the way for my current involvment.
I have been involved in Obedience in New Zealand since 1984.
In those days I was working a yellow Labrador Retriever named Islay who led me through Special Beginners to Test B. Since then I have bred and worked English Springer Spaniels.
My first Springer was Ob.Ch. Marshfeild Kea-Fern CDX the mother of my very special Obedience dog Ob.Gr.Ch.Anacre Isle of Skye CDX. Skye was a joy to work and took me to the heights in Obedience. She proudly represented Zone 1 as their Test C dog at the National Dog Obedience Assembly at Pukekohe in 1997 and she was also in a run off for 1st place at the National Dog Show in 1997. It was a sad day when I retired Skye at the age of 12. Both Kea and Skye have been on television adverts and pictured on dog biscuit packets.
I n 2003 I retired Marvien Glenjura Fern CDX . Although she competed in Test C she only obtained one challenge. Jura has also represented Zone 1 as their Novice dog at the National Dog Training Assemby at Napier.
I now compete with Doramin Sorel of Mavien who has currently four Test B wins under her belt and is working towards her challenges in Test C.
I have also been privileged to obtain an English Springer Spaniel from one of the top breeders in Australia. Fraelighte IonaFern is related to Kea's Mum. Fern has now obtained two Novice wins and currently competing in Test A between my judging appointments. I have also enjoyed breed showing with Fern who in October 2005 became a Champion.
I am qualified for the Obedience Championshiip Test B Panel having been on the Ribbon Trial Panel since 1997.
