Griffon Bruxellois Club

Griffon Bruxellois Club Image The Griffon Bruxellois Club was first talked about in December 1991, with the inaugural meeting to form the club being held in March 1992. From this meeting a steering committee of David Fifield (Chair), Miss Jean Wiffin, Mrs E Baugham, Mr B & Mrs B Fergus, Mrs J Mace, Mrs M McDonald, Mrs A Shannon, Mrs M Wells and Miss H Strang as the committee.
The first general meeting was held in May 1992 - invitations had been sent to as many known Griffon breeders and owners to attend. This meeting was well attended, people travelling from the North Island and deep in the South Island. The first newsletter 'Griffon Gossip' was published in November 1992.
The Griffon Bruxellois club held its first Ribbon Parade in November 1992, its first Open Show in May 1995, and its first Championship Show in November 1996.
The club has members all over New Zealand, Australia, and some in England.
The club tries to hold Fun Days and get togethers for its members, as well as our yearly Open and Championship Shows.
We produce a quarterly newsletter with articles of interest and news of Griffon 'happenings'. New members are always welcome.
