It is the aim of Koreke Kennels to breed sound Crested's using the best of New Zealand and International lines.
As our dogs are first and foremost companion dogs, temperament and heatlh are very important considerations when we plan a breeding. To ensure the furture wellbeing and heath of the breed all our breeding dogs are PRA tested.

BACKGROUND TO KOREKE KENNELS
Our journey with Chinese Crested's started ten years ago.
We are situated on a hillside above Lyttelton Harbour on beautiful Banks Peninsula, Koreke Kennels looks out over Quail Island. It is from this island that Koreke Kennels takes its name.
AUSTRALIAN CONNECTIONS - XIOMA KENNELS
We have been connected with the South Australian kennel of Xioma in Adelaide since 2002. Working in co-operation with Sally & Sylvia Johnson of Xioma has linked our breeding to Swedish and American lines. In 1995 the Multi International Champion Prefix Damascus a beautiful golden powder-puff won the World Championship, the first Chinese Crested ever to do so. We are proud to have the prefix breeding lines here at Koreke Kennels.
Aust. Ch. Xioma Sagebrush arrived in 2004.In the Year he was with us Smudge won BOB at the 2004 NZ Nationals, gained his New Zealand Championship title, Bronze and Silver Merit Awards and many Group placings. Smudge has since been awarded the Australian title of Grand Champion.

 Australian Grand Ch Xioma Fire In The Sky - 'Billy' arrived in New Zealand in time to compete in the 2007 National Dog Show. Not only did Billy take the Breed title but he also made the final 5 line up for the Group Award.
Billy is to remain at Koreke Kennels. We look forward to showing him and to his additon to our breeding program.

 Ch. Koreke Jubilare Bai Hu With Xioma (Powderpuff) was Best of Breed - Chinese Crested Dog - National Dog Show 2005 and 2006. Ch.Koreke Aoede Encore With Xioma (Hairless) was Reserve of Breed - National Dog Show 2006
Their pedigree's are a tribute to the combination of New Zealand and Australian lines. They grand daughters of our first white puffer; Ch Nun of Tereieroa and the black hairless Ch. Tengra of Pughbear a New Zealand bred dog closely linked to the Mohawk lines in Australia.
Both were sired by NZ & Australian Ch. Xioma Sagebrush. The Xioma line inculdes Aust & American Ch. Gingery's Cheerios. Their mother is the black true hairless girl Ch. Koreke Danu Nir Eire, Their pedigree is shown below.
