NZKC Constitution Review - General Information
The NZKC Constitution Review Committee is to undertake a series of member consultation meetings around the country starting with the venues detailed below and followed up in the new year with meetings in other major centres.
The purpose of these meetings is to allow members to provide direct input into the Constitution Review process before we start formulating revisions to our constitution, rules, or structures.
There will be a brief presentation back grounding the factors giving rise to the review followed by the opportunity for members to contribute their thoughts on any aspects of the constitution that they feel should be looked at.
The areas that we anticipate members may want to discuss in depth and provide feedback on in relation to the constitution and topics that we want to explore are: separating the rules from the constitution; the process for electing representatives to Executive Council; Executive Council tenure; representation of special interest groups within the NZKC membership; the breadth and scope of NZKC activities in the modern era; and initiatives to encourage membership participation in the governance process.
These meetings are open to all members of the New Zealand Kennel Club from all of the different disciplines. We would like as many members to participate in the process as possible and invite you to attend one of our meetings.
