NZKC Accredited Tail Dockers Scheme

Protocols for appointment to the Accredited Dockers Panel require (inter alia):

Applicants to observe and assist with docking of 25 puppies
supply a reference from a veterinarian
perform the first 10 docks under supervision of a veterinarian or a NZKC Accredited Docker

There are members who have been docking tails successfully for a number of years now and for them to have to fulfil these protocols would seem superfluous.
NZKC will consider applications for direct appointment to the Panel from members who fulfil the following criteria:

Must have been a member of NZKC for at least five years
Must have bred at least three registered litters that were docked successfully by the applicant

The number of whelps docked should be stated in the application.
Applications will be considered from members of five years standing who may have carried out docking on a regular basis for fellow members.
Such applications will need to be supported with a reference from the member whose puppies were docked.
In all cases the NZKC reserves the right to require verification of detail submitted in any application.
